What’s up? It’s Lavender again! Our first tests of the school year finished last week. How did you do? Maybe you studied hard and did well? Or maybe not so well? I think it’s important to remember feelings like “I should have studied more.” It’s easy to forget these feelings by the time the next test comes. One way to help you remember is by writing down your thoughts. Then you can read it again before the next test. It’s like sending a letter into the future, a special message for your future self. Even if you did well, you can write yourself to say “Good job! Let’s do our best again next time!” It’s kind of a fun idea right? Sending a letter to yourself? Also don’t forget, teachers love to teach. That’s why we became teachers! If you’re confused by something, don’t be shy, ask your teacher about it. They won’t think badly of you, I promise. Rather, they’ll be excited to help you! Anyway good work everyone! Now it’s back to regular classes. As we head into June, we can start to feel spring turn to summer. The temperature seemed to increase so quickly! I’m not ready! Make sure to take care of yourself in the heat. June has the longest day of the year, the Summer Solstice, so get ready for more sunlight these days too! June is also the start of the rainy season. There’s a saying in English: “April showers bring May flowers.” It means the rainy time in April helps the flowers in May grow. Though in Japan, it might be the other way around! “May flowers bring June showers.” What do you think?
