Hello! It’s Lavender again! Fall is starting!! Did you all have a good summer? I love summer fireworks and going to the beach, but I love autumn so much more! September 22nd is the Autumnal Equinox this year which officially marks the start of fall. Equinox comes from the Latin words aequus, meaning “equal,” and nox, meaning “night.” So around the time of the equinox is when the day is equal to the night. In other words, we’ll have about 12 hours of daylight this next week! This happens when the Earth isn’t tilted towards or away from the Sun, which is only twice a year. Soon the weather will cool down and we can enjoy seeing the leaves change to beautiful reds, oranges, and yellows. We can also enjoy the seasonal food. I like pumpkins, sweet potatoes, apples, and mushrooms! How about you guys? I hope you all can enjoy the fall foods and cooler weather! I’m looking forward to it!
