創造基礎Ａでの英語での授業は、今回は「砂漠化」をテーマに行われました。以下は生徒の感想です。
It is surprising for me that it is normal for Australia to limit water which people can use. Because I have never heard of ‘water restrictions’ and have never thought fresh water is such an important thing. Less than 3% of the water on the earth is fresh. This fact made me surprised too.I haven’t felt drought, so I was shocked by drought’s effects. I did not know there are so many of them. So I should think about a lot of the problems.Desalinisation and water recycling (cleaning the water) are very interesting projects, especially desalinisation. I haven’t known desalinisation is practical.
I understood that water is important to all living things. Especially, I think so to see the picture of the zebra dead from the drought. I was also surprised that, in fact, drought was the cause of many people dying. I reconfirmed to not live without water.So, we should think of ways to get water more than ever.My grandparents work to grow rice and many vegetables. So if the water used for growing them drops, my grandparents would lose their job and my family can’t eat foods which were made by them.That will make us so sad.
Around the world, there are many suicidal people because there is little rain. These things surprised me. Suicidal people are in Japan, but the reasons for suicide are not rain.And I thought there is plenty of water in Australia because Australia is surrounded by seas. But I realized seawater can’t be drunk and used. That Australia has no rain can cause famine.At last, I was most interested when I listened about water restrictions. In Japan, such restrictions are not. Other people in the world have big disasters about water. I should use water like it is precious, I thought.
