イギリス研修５日目は、宿舎近くの公園「Paddington Green」の散歩から始まった。朝食後、Tubeに乗ってオフィス街のLiverpool Streetに向かった。午前のプログラムは、The Broadgate TowerにあるリコーUKを訪問し、リコーヨーロッパのChief Operating Officer（COO）Nicola Dowining氏とExecutive Vice President（EVP）藤本恭一郎氏、鈴木貴志氏、大島義隆氏、リコー UKの和田淳氏にお世話になった。まず藤本氏から企業説明を受け、Downing氏からBrexitの経緯やリコーの企業戦略について講義を受けた。生徒からは最悪の事態についてリコーがどのように備えているのかやイギリスにおける移民労働者の影響などについて質問した。続いて、和田氏からリコー UKのワーキングスタイルについて講義を受けたあと、オフィス見学をした。和田氏から「優秀な若い人材を引き付けるオフィスのアイデア」という問いに対して、生徒からは日本におけるチームワークを発揮できる職場づくりも見直すべきだという意見がでた。今回も昨日のJETROロンドンに引き続き、自治体国際化協会ロンドンの宇野真由美氏にアテンドをしていただいた。
〈生徒感想〉
I learned about Brexit’s various things in RICOH UK. Among the tasks of Brexit, I felt that the problem regarding people’s movement was a very terrible problem. In addition, I have taught many problems such as tariffs. I knew that it was the worst that these many problems were not settled in 2019. I observed it in the company in RICOH UK. It was a very attractive office. I felt that opening-like space and the large personal space are helpful to create the idea. I thought Japan to follow RICOH UK.
I received a different impression from Brexit than JETRO. By JETRO, The current situation did not change so much. However, at RICOH Miss. Nikola had a strong sense of crisis, and I knew the uncertainty of the point of view from the business. And I felt that Brexit was serious. Also, on the office tour, I learned about the working environment that was perfect for my research theme, and I learned a lot. I felt it was a very interesting way of thinking that reducing the individual’s place in order to promote efficiency. Also l felt there was not much individual space because there was a difference in national character. I would like to refer to it later.
午後の活動は、ロンドン金融街「CITY」を抜けて、ロンドン大火記念塔やロンドン橋、ウェストミンスター大聖堂、バッキンガム宮殿などを見学した。夕食はインド料理「Ramna」でとり、この日の日程を終えた。
