イギリス４日目、午前中はヨークからロンドンまで高速鉄道での移動だった。到着後、宿舎のHILTON LONDON METROPOLEに荷物を預け、MidCity PlaceビルにあるJETROロンドンに向かった。JETROロンドンでは、藤井寛次長と鵜澤聡氏からイギリスの政治経済動向について講義をしていただいた。また、「BREXIT」にともなう日英関係や日本企業への影響についてもお話をしていただいた。たくさんのデータを踏まえた説明や、イギリスの日本食事情など生徒にわかりやすい内容を交え、イギリスについての理解を深めた。生徒からはBREXITにもかかわらずイギリス経済が堅調である理由についてやEU離脱やガソリン・ディーゼル車規制による今後の日系自動車産業への影響について質問した。なお、今回のフィールドワークには、自治体国際化協会（CLAIR）ロンドンの宇野真由美氏にアテンドを依頼した。
〈生徒感想〉
Before, I thought that Brexit is a serious problem only for Europe. However, after listening the lecture, I found it is not true at all. Brexit is a serious problem for all over the world. I couldn’t imagine that a decision of only one country affects the world but it occurred now because of the globalization. Through learning about Brexit, I understood that the world is more globalized and the globalization won’t stop. Therefore, people all over the world must be more interested in global issues and think about it from various viewpoints.
I learned many interesting things through the visiting to JETRO London. There are mainly two points. First, I knew influences come from Brexit. I thought that the UK government must solve the problem of Ireland and North Ireland sooner. Second, I understood the situation of Japanese companies in the UK and I was surprised at that Japanese companies still want to go to the UK after Brexit. It was so good for me to be able to know that Brexit sometimes doesn’t have influence on Japanese companies. I had a very good time there. I want to use what I learned there for my research.
続いて、大英博物館にて館内を見学した。生徒は世界各地から集められた展示物を堪能した。その後、夕食を中華料理「Joy King Lau」でとり、トラファルガー広場を経由して、「Her Majesty’s Theatre」にてミュージカル「The Phantom of the Opera」を鑑賞した。
