SSH Collaborative Inquiry III Presentation Day

During the fifth and sixth periods of June 26th, Friday, 3-5 collaborative Inquiry III (共創探究III) had a big presentation day with a lot of guests from outside our high school.

The guests included: Professor Emeritus Masaharu Oshima, from the University of Tokyo; Associate Professor Satoshi Kiriyama, from the University of Tottori; Mr. Shuhei Nakata, CEO of Nakata Hanger; Mr. Akio Akamatsu, Principal of Toyooka Kita Junior High School; Mr. Shuichi Higuchi, from the Hyogo Prefectural Board of Education; Mr. Coby Taylor from Izushi High School; Mr. Andrew Goolden from Hamasaka High School; and Mr. Michael Potter from Wadayama High School.

Our topics of presentations were: The relationship between frequency spectrum and sound; making bioethanol with food waste; blocking UV rays with the power of trees; reuse of goldenrod; save agriculture from water shortages; development of a daily duty module using a color sensor; how opening passages attract readers and air resistance; and the shape of objects.

I was able to see 6 of the presentations during the limited time, and all of them were excellent, to say the least. They hardly looked at their scripts because they remembered their lines and they were all so passionate about their subjects that I could feel it. The presentations were of great quality, and all of our guests were impressed by their presentations. I heard some ALTs saying that the presentations are getting better and better each year! Thank you to our guests for taking the time to come and support our class. And great job 3-5! One of the presentations will advance to the science conference which will be held on July 11th.
