豊高公式ブログ「 Lavender のつぶやき」

Hello everyone! It’s Lavender! I’ll be writing my blog posts in English again this year because I want to practice and improve! Welcome to Toyooka High School first years, and welcome back second and third years! How was your break? Did you do anything fun? Are you ready to take on the challenges of the new school year? The third years are sure to be nervous about studying for college entrance exams, the second years will now be working harder and need to look after their new kouhai, and it’s sure to be a big change from middle school to high school for the first years! In many western countries the new school year doesn’t start until August or September, but I think this time of year is perfect for new beginnings. In fact next week, on Sunday the 20th of April, it’s Easter! Easter is the holiday to celebrate new life. That’s why it takes place in spring and often uses symbols of baby animals like chicks, lambs, and bunnies. My friend in America says that every year they dye and decorate hardboiled eggs, then their family hides them around the house on Easter morning along with a basket full of treats like chocolate eggs! Once they find them all, they bake a special Greek sweet bread called tsoureki to have with their dinner. That sounds pretty fun! What do you do for Easter? I think even if you don’t celebrate Easter, we can all appreciate the spirit of spring! The cold weather is passing and the sakura are beautiful! Classes have started again and I hope everyone is excited for the changes this new year will bring them!
