Hey it’s Lavender again! Last Monday was Saint Patrick’s Day! Did you know? Also known as St. Paddy’s Day, it takes place on March 17th every year. St. Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland, so it’s a day to celebrate Irish culture. As such, Irish flags are often hung for decorations. Other common decorations are four-leaf clovers and shamrocks, Irish symbols of good luck! Immigrants from Ireland brought the holiday to other countries and it’s now celebrated all over with parades and green dyed food and drinks! Chicago even dyes its river green every year! It’s also said that you have to wear green on St. Patrick’s Day, otherwise leprechauns will pinch you! Pretty interesting! What do you think about this holiday?
