ブレントウッド校、本校の体育大会に参加

Students from our Australian sister school, Brentwood Secondary College, participated in the sports festival held at our school on Thursday, September 10. In the morning, they enthusiastically cheered on our students during the competitions, and in the afternoon, they tried their hand at the long-rope jumping event.

Long-rope jumping was a new experience for the Australian students. At first, they kept getting caught in the rope, managing only a couple of consecutive jumps at best. Seeing this, our school’s principal invited the principal of Brentwood to join in, resulting in the rare and special sight of both principals turning the rope for them.

Encouraged by the two principals, the students gradually found their rhythm and finally succeeded in making ten consecutive jumps. Cheers erupted from the students, and smiles spread across the faces of the accompanying teachers.

This experience will surely remain a cherished memory of their time in Japan for everyone from our sister school.

9月10日（木）、本校で開催された体育大会に、オーストラリアの姉妹校であるブレントウッド・セカンダリー・カレッジの生徒たちが参加しました。午前中は競技に取り組む本校の生徒たちに熱心な声援を送り、午後には長縄跳びに挑戦しました。

オーストラリアの生徒たちにとって、長縄跳びは初めての体験でした。最初はなかなかタイミングが合わず、縄に引っかかってしまい、せいぜい２～３回連続で跳べる程度でした。その様子を見ていた本校の校長先生が姉妹校の校長先生を誘い、両校校長が自ら縄を回すという、大変珍しく特別な光景が見られました。

２人の校長先生に励まされながら、生徒たちは次第にリズムをつかみ、ついに10回連続で跳ぶことに成功しました。生徒たちからは歓声が上がり、引率の先生方の顔にも笑顔が広がりました。

この体験は、姉妹校の皆さんにとって、日本での滞在における大切な思い出として心に残ることでしょう。
