ブレントウッド校生徒の茶道・折り紙体験

After school on Tuesday, September 8, students from our Australian sister school, Brentwood Secondary College, were hosted by our school’s Tea Ceremony Club in the traditional tea ceremony room. Although they appeared a bit nervous about experiencing the tea ceremony for the first time, the students enjoyed tasting the matcha.

Afterwards, they joined the English Speaking Society in the Language Laboratory to try their hand at origami. For many of the students, this was their first time attempting authentic origami; they watched demonstrations by ESS members and worked hard to fold shapes such as paper cranes.

These activities, organized by the Tea Ceremony Club and the ESS, provided the students from Brentwood with a fascinating cross-cultural experience.

9月8日（火）の放課後、オーストラリアの姉妹校であるブレントウッド・セカンダリー・カレッジの生徒たちが、本校の茶道部の生徒たちに迎えられ、校内の茶室で茶道を体験しました。初めての茶道体験に少し緊張した様子も見られましたが、生徒たちは抹茶の味を楽しみました。

その後、彼らはLL教室でESS部の生徒たちと合流し、折り紙に挑戦しました。本格的な折り紙に初めて触れる生徒も多く、ESS部員による実演を見ながら、折り鶴などの作品を一生懸命折っていました。

茶道部とESSが企画したこれらの活動は、ブレントウッド校の生徒たちにとって、素晴らしい異文化体験となりました。
