【普通科・総合】Brentwood校との交流授業を実施しました
On Tuesday, September 15th, during the “Comprehensive Inquiry-based studies Time” period, students from our school’s general studies program interacted with students from our sister school, Brentwood Secondary College.
This time, we formed seven groups, each consisting of two Japanese students and three Australian students. After introducing themselves within their groups, they created paper helicopters using graph paper.
The students considered how to increase the flight time, and each made various efforts, mainly focusing on the size and shape of the wings.
Finally, we held a team competition to see who could keep their projectiles airborne the longest. Each team had three attempts, dropping the projectile from the same height and comparing the time it took for it to reach the floor.
The activities proceeded in a friendly atmosphere throughout, with communication primarily in English, making it a fun and meaningful exchange for both the Japanese and Australian students.
9月15日火曜日の「総合的な探究の時間」に、本校普通科の生徒と姉妹校であるブレントウッド・セカンダリー・カレッジの生徒が交流しました。
今回は、日本の生徒2名とオーストラリアの生徒3名を基本とする7つの班を編成しました。班内で自己紹介をした後、グラフ用紙を使って紙製のヘリコプターを作成しました。
生徒たちは、滞空時間をより長くするためにどうすればよいかを考え、羽の大きさや形を中心に、それぞれ工夫を重ねました。
最後に、班対抗で滞空時間を競うコンテストを行いました。各班3回ずつ挑戦し、同じ高さから落として床に着くまでの時間を比べました。
英語を中心にコミュニケーションを取りながら、終始なごやかな雰囲気の中で活動が進み、日本とオーストラリアの生徒たち双方にとって、楽しく有意義な交流の時間となりました。
