【科学探究科】Brentwood校との交流授業を実施しました
On Tuesday, September 8, students from Class 2-5 of the Science Inquiry Course welcomed 20 students from their sister school, Brentwood Secondary College, for an exchange session conducted entirely in English across eight groups during their “Inquiry Basics II” class.
Although they had practiced beforehand, many students in Class 2-5 initially appeared nervous. However, once the session began, the venue buzzed with energy as they enthusiastically explained the themes their groups had chosen. It was clear that the event was a highly meaningful experience.
At one point, the Brentwood students rotated to visit different groups and listen to their presentations. As the Class 2-5 students repeated their explanations, their speaking grew increasingly fluent. The session consisted of five rounds, yet the time flew by, making for a truly fulfilling experience.
We hope to continue organizing such initiatives in the future.
９月8日火曜日、科学探究科2年5組の「探究基礎Ⅱ」の授業で、姉妹校であるブレントウッド・セカンダリー・カレッジから20人の生徒を迎え、8つのグループに分かれて英語で交流会を行いました。
事前に練習を重ねていたものの、2年5組の生徒の多くは、はじめは不安そうな様子でした。ですが、交流会が始まると、それぞれの班で決めたテーマについて一生懸命に説明しようとする姿が見られ、会場には熱気があふれました。大変有意義な取り組みとなったことがうかがえます。
途中でブレントウッドの生徒たちは訪問する班を移動し、別の班の説明にも耳を傾けました。説明を重ねるうちに、2年5組の生徒たちの話し方も次第に滑らかになっていきました。交流は5ラウンド行われましたが、時間があっという間に感じられるほど充実したひとときとなりました。
このような取り組みを、今後も継続していければと思います。
