Participants: 44 first year students

CIMG5802The seven research groups were announced and each group decided what theme they would like to choose for their research project. We also prepared for the upcoming visit by Harvard students to our school. The students discussed the Kyoto University Study Trip, and started doing research on their themes. Each group’s research theme is as follows:

    1. Organizing and Managing a World Class City and Networking Between Cities: Group A
    2. The Globalization of Business in Himeji: Groups B and C
  • Organizing and Managing a Sustainable International Society: Groups D, E and F

  1. Tourism Development in Himeji: Group G

As seen in their questionnaires, the students are full of more motivation than before because their groups have been decided and their research can finally start.

The upcoming SGH Kyoto Study Trip will last 5 days and 4 nights, from August 5th to August 9th. The students will work on their research projects with the guidance of Professor Kobayashi who is from Kyoto University’s Graduate School of Management, as well as undergraduate, graduate students and international students from Kyoto University.

The Harvard students will visit our school on August 15th. Some groups prepared a “Welcome Presentation” for them. There are three themes for the presentation: Himeji, Himeji Castle and Himeji Nishi High School. Some groups have already started to make their PowerPoints.
