Topic: “The Life of the Next Generation of Global Leaders”
First Year Students
Professor Kikuta spoke to the students He told them about how he searched for his own identity as a student preparing for the entrance exams. He made a life agenda from 1955 to 2055 with the one of his goals being “to live so that my growth and happiness may lead to the continuation and evolution of global society.” First he aimed to improve his abilities as much as he could and to change the world. After he thought about the way of UN staff were chosen. He participated in activities in the Maldives and Namibia, he met with Ms. Aung San Suu Kyi, he helped educate street children in Bangladesh, he offered support after the Indian Ocean tsunami and he made contact with a rebel army in Sri Lanka. The students were engrossed in the stories of his experiences and they asked many questions after his lecture. The lecture was a valuable experience from which the students could receive many hints about his lifestyle.
Second Year Students
The second year students worked on their research projects in their groups. They made a lot of progress and were able to get some advice from their Assistant Language Teacher (ALT)
Progress of Each Group:
- Group A: The purpose of their project, to “get the tourists who come to Himeji to enjoy themselves” was confirmed.
- Group B1: A mock-up store image for the Nishimatsuya Shanghai branch was made.
