It was a chilly day and the wind blew strongly. We started our activities at 8:30 am. Today we visited Fenway Park, home of the Red Sox baseball team, and watch the Blue Man Group’s show.
After our morning meeting, we took a taxi, bought some goods at the Red Sox shop and joined the Fenway Park tour. Before we entered Fenway Park, we had to go through a security check. We listened to the guide’s explanations as we walked around the stadium. Fenway Park is the oldest and smallest stadium in America. The guide said that “Green Monster, a huge wall in the park, was pronounced the same way in Boston as we would say it in Japanese.
After the tour, we had lunch at the cafeteria and walked to The Charles Playhouse. After another security check, we entered the playhouse. While we waited for the show to start, we enjoyed the atmosphere in the playhouse. The show began with a telop running on an electric bulletin board. Many devices which were beyond our imaginations jumped up one after another. It was quite a crazy form of entertainment. I am sorry that we cannot show any photos of it because we were not allowed to take photos of the show. We really enjoyed it. It was a good chance for us to learn that we can communicate only using eye contact and gestures.
After that, the weather was nice enough that we could take a walk, so we walked to Boston Common, the oldest park in America, to a restaurant in Kenmor and then past rows of expensive houses. After dinner, we walked back to the hotel, reflected on the day’s activities and then had some free time. Many students practiced for their presentations, which will be held on Monday.
