さよならパーティー
On the evening of Tuesday, September 15, a farewell party was held at Eclat in Ono City to honor visitors from our Australian sister school, Brentwood Secondary College. The first 50 minutes or so were spent enjoying a meal and deepening conversations among the participants.
Afterward, everyone moved to a venue—featuring a stage and seating—for the formal ceremony. Principal Ando of Ono Senior High School opened the proceedings by reflecting on the week-long exchange. This was followed by speeches from student representatives from both Brentwood Secondary College and the host families.
Next, students from Ono Senior High School performed a group rendition of Piko-Taro’s “PPAP.” Following this, Brentwood students introduced an Australian dance, and everyone in the venue joined in to dance together. The event also included a tasting of Australian cookies brought by the visitors and an Australia-themed quiz competition.
The enjoyable time flew by, and the event concluded with remarks from Brentwood Principal John Ballagh and an exchange of commemorative gifts. The sister school presented a rugby ball to our school, while we presented them with a piece of shippo-yaki (cloisonné enamelware) depicting Himeji Castle.
To wrap things up, students from both Japan and Australia gathered on stage for a commemorative photo, bringing the two-and-a-half-hour farewell party to a close. Our school has maintained an exchange program with our sister school for nearly 30 years, and all participants sincerely hoped that the bond between the two schools would continue to deepen in the future.
9月15日（火）の夕方、小野市にある「エクラ」にて、オーストラリアの姉妹校であるブレントウッド・セカンダリー・カレッジからの訪問団のさよならパーティーが開催されました。最初の約50分間は、食事を楽しみながら参加者同士の交流を深める時間となりました。
その後、全員がステージと客席を備えた場所へ移動し、式典が行われました。小野高校の安東校長が、1週間にわたる交流活動を振り返りながら開会の挨拶を述べました。続いて、ブレントウッド・セカンダリー・カレッジの生徒代表と、ホスト役を務めた本校生徒の代表がそれぞれスピーチを行いました。
次に、小野高校の生徒たちがピコ太郎の「PPAP」をグループで披露しました。続いてブレントウッド校の生徒たちがオーストラリアのダンスを紹介し、会場にいる全員で一緒にダンスを楽しみました。また、訪問団が持参したオーストラリアのクッキーの試食や、オーストラリアに関するクイズ大会も行われました。
楽しい時間はあっという間に過ぎ、ブレントウッド校のジョン・バラー校長による挨拶と記念品の交換をもって、イベントは幕を閉じました。姉妹校からはラグビーボールが贈られ、本校からは姫路城が描かれた七宝焼（しっぽうやき）を贈呈しました。
最後に、日本とオーストラリアの生徒たちがステージに集まって記念撮影を行い、2時間半にわたるさよならパーティーは終了しました。本校は姉妹校との交流プログラムを30年近く続けており、参加者全員が、両校の絆が今後さらに深まっていくことを心から願っていました。
